The University of Applied Sciences, Technische Hochschule Mittelhessen (THM) is renowned for future oriented degree programs in the economic and technical sciences. Innovation based on tradition is our motto. The university was founded in 1971. However, its roots reach back into the 19th and early 20th century, when schools for engineering were established in both cities. Today the main field of studies at the University of Applied Scineces are economic and rechnical sciences. Classical disciplines like civil engineering, electrical or mechanical engineering are offerend alongside porgressive programs like energy systems, biotechnology, media engineering, business administration and computer sciences. We constantly work on our curriculum by establishing new study programs and updating the standing programs to meet the requirements of a modern industrial society.

Increasing student numbers (currently approx. 15,000, with 1,000 international students) reflect the attractiveness of our more than 50 degree programs, which are organized in 12 departments and taught by over 250 professors.

But the University of Applied Sciences is not only an excellent place for learning, it is also an interesiting community. Our social programs (talks, concerts, sports, parties) offer the opportunity to become a part of the TH-community.

Mission of the University

The University of Applied Sciences has its roots in the centre of Germany (Hesse) but is increasingly active nationwide and internationally as well. In the centre of our activities are excellent teaching, research & development and continuous improvement.
